Emmy

Lead vocals

I first started singing when I was little girl- joining all the choirs at both primary and high school and entering every talent show possible! I’ll never forget singing Avril Lavigne’s ‘I’m With You’ whilst wearing what was considered a punkish tie around my neck, black nail varnish and badly straightened hair. I was also heavily influenced by my dad growing up who was into his classic rock and blues- it was often joked about that I was introduced to ACDC in the womb and would kick to the beat haha! My dad’s influence also led me to train my voice to sound like my favourite blues rock influences such as David Coverdale and Paul Rodgers and female vocalists such as Bonnie Raitt and Susan Tedeschi. And I haven’t stopped singing since! Before Company of Strangers I was singing in a country/blues duo for about 3 years, gigging all over East Lancashire. However, classic rock is my first love and it has been an honour to be welcomed into the band. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for The Strangers!
